How much should I order? How long will certain quantities last me? These are questions we get asked frequently. Below is a breakdown of roughly the quantity that can be expected when you order a quarter of a steer. For a family of four, with moderate consumption, you can expect the quantities listed below to last for about a year.
A quarter will yield around 140 lbs. of beef and cost about $850. When ordering in bulk, weight and price quotes are approximations. Each animal and order is a little different depending on size of the animal and packaging preferences.
Orders are delivered in full so you will need freezer storage space. For a quarter, expect to need at least 5 cubic feet of freezer space to properly store your order, and 12 cubic feet for a half, etc.
